About Our CommunityThe Bethpage Jewish Community Center is a warm, intimate congregation serving Bethpage, Old Bethpage, Plainview and the surrounding communities for 45 years. Our spiritual leader, Rabbi Seth D. Gordon, has served our community since 1992. Rabbi Gordon is active in the community through the Adult Institute for Jewish Studies, KOLI and others and directs and teaches in our exceptional Religious School as well. Cantor Mordechai Dier joined us in 2000 and teaches in our school and offers Bar Mitzvah instruction. In addition to Shabbat, Holyday and weekday services, BJCC boasts an active Sisterhood, Men's Club and other community activities. We invite you to take a look at our beautiful 200 seat sanctuary that expands to over 700 seats for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Our social hall, which seats more than 200 for dining (kosher, of course) has recently undergone renovation from new ceilings and paint, to elegant chairs. More is planned. Special Shabbat programs include family night oriented toward children, Adult Shabbat for adult-oriented sermons and discussions, special school services and periodic Lunch 'n Learns, among others.
