PRAYER BOOKS

The purchasing of a prayer book  for $36.00 is a way to commemorate a special event, be it in honor or memory of someone.  This now becomes a living testament to that person or persons.  Whenever anyone opens that book in the synagogue they will see that someone cared enough to insure that this person or persons is remembered or honored.

Just think of it! By the purchase of a prayer book, be it a daily, Shabbat or special holiday book, and/or a chumash you not only will be creating a lasting remembrance, but will be assisting the synagogue in fulfilling its function of providing the necessary means for our congregants to meet their religious obligations.

PLEASE CALL THE SYNAGOGUE OFFICE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS WORTHWHILE ENDEAVOR.

MEMORIAL PLAQUES

The walls of the Sanctuary at BJCC are filled with memorial plaques that honor the loved ones of the present and former members of our synagogue.

Why do we buy plaques?  Our Torah talks of Abraham paying for a resting-place and marker for his beloved Sara after she passed away.  This tradition has continued, and a stone of some kind marks all Jewish graves before the year is up.  An additional marking is placement of a memorial plaque in the synagogue.  The plaque honors the deceased, is a visual remembrance of that person, and a comforting marker for the family members.

You, too, can buy a plaque for your loved ones, or reserve a space for a future need.  The cost of the plaque is $300.00 and there is no charge to reserve.   Please call the synagogue office to discuss your needs.
